One cycle, one beat per quarter note (5/4), looping on whole bars. Free to use in your releases, royalty-free.
How to count it
- Clap on the first beat of each section.
- Tap your fingers in turn (little, ring, middle) for the counts after a clap.
- Wave the hand, palm up, where the section has one.
Carnatic talas are kept with the hand like this. Press Play and count along; the mridangam pattern is up to the player.
Good to know
- Five beats grouped 2+3, spoken as ta-ka, ta-ki-ta.
- Some musicians count it as 10; here each of the 5 is one beat.
