RāgāKit (ragakit.com and the RāgāKit app) is made by an independent developer. This page explains, in plain words, what information RāgāKit collects, why, and what you can do about it. The short version: there are no accounts, no ads, no cookies and no tracking profiles, and nothing is sold or shared for marketing.
What we collect
When you just use RāgāKit
- Anonymous usage counts. For each day we count page views and actions such as Play or Download, together with the approximate place of the connection (country, region and city, as our host Cloudflare reports it) and whether it came from a phone or a computer. These counts are not linked to you: there is no user ID, cookie or IP address in them.
- Your settings (such as your chosen key or theme) are saved only on your own device, in your browser's storage. We never receive them.
When you send feedback
- Your star rating, comment, what you make (if you say), the page you were on, and optionally your email address and a display name.
- The approximate place of your connection (country, region, city, postal code and time zone) and whether you used a phone or a computer.
- To stop spam, a scrambled one-way code made from your IP address. We cannot turn it back into your IP address, and we don't store the IP address itself.
- If you tick "Show my comment on this page", your comment and the name you chose can appear publicly on that page after we review it. Your email and location are never shown.
When you sign up for updates
- Your email address, the page you signed up on, the approximate place of your connection, and the same scrambled anti-spam code.
How we use it
- Usage counts show which ragas and features are useful, so we know what to improve.
- Feedback is read to fix mistakes and improve RāgāKit. If you left your email, we may reply to you.
- Sign-up emails are used only to send occasional news about RāgāKit (new ragas, taals and packs). Every email has an unsubscribe link.
We don't sell, rent or share your information for advertising, and we don't build profiles about you.
Services that process data for us
- Cloudflare hosts RāgāKit, stores the data above and forwards feedback notifications by email. Their privacy policy: cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.
- If we send a newsletter, we may use an email service to deliver it; it receives only the email addresses on the list.
How long we keep it
Feedback and sign-ups are kept until you ask us to delete them or they are no longer needed. Daily usage counts are kept as totals for trends. You can unsubscribe from emails at any time, which deletes your address from the list.
Your choices and rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete anything you sent us (feedback or your email address) by writing to hello@ragakit.com. Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK or California), you may have further rights under local privacy law, and you can complain to your local data protection authority. We will respond within 30 days.
Children
RāgāKit is a general music tool and is not directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us their email address, write to us and we will delete it.
Where data is processed
Cloudflare runs a worldwide network, so data may be processed in the United States and other countries.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date at the top.
